SK Functional EVA Evatane 28-25
Evatane 28-25 is a premium, random ethylene–vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) from SK Functional Polymer (formerly Arkema Evatane), featuring 28% vinyl acetate and a melt flow rate of ~25 g/10 min. Produced by high-pressure radical polymerization and stabilized with antioxidants, this grade delivers a unique combination of softness, flexibility, polarity, and medium-high fluidity. It is widely recognized as a top choice for hot melt adhesive (HMA) formulations, HFFR (halogen-free flame-retardant) cable compounds, masterbatches, and cast/film extrusion. Evatane 28-25 offers high cohesive strength with fillers, excellent compatibility with tackifying resins and waxes, and achieves 800–1000% elongation at break, tensile strength ~14 MPa, and Shore A hardness ~75. Supplied as unfilled, ready-to-use granules, it is trusted for demanding adhesive, cable, and film applications across India.

Applications
Hot Melt Adhesives
Evatane 28-25 is engineered as an efficient, fast-processing base resin for hot melt adhesives, including packaging HMA (case/carton sealing, edge banding), product assembly adhesives (filters, woodwork, bookbinding), footwear and leather adhesives, and PSA/technical HMA. Its high VA content and MFI 25 ensure easy pumping, coating, and robust, tunable adhesive formulations with tackifiers and waxes. Antioxidant stabilization supports reliable processing and shelf life.
Key Bullets:
- Packaging HMA (case, carton, edge banding)
- Product assembly adhesives
- Footwear/leather adhesives
- PSA/technical HMA (labels, tapes)
HFFR Cable Compounds & Masterbatches
Evatane 28-25 delivers high cohesive strength with mineral, flame-retardant, or sound-damping fillers and is a reference EVA for HFFR sheathing/insulation, masterbatches, and sound-damping compounds. Its polarity ensures strong interaction with fillers (ATH/MDH), while antioxidant stabilization resists thermal aging in cable and masterbatch applications.
Key Bullets:
- HFFR cable compounds (sheathing, insulation)
- Filler-rich masterbatches
- Sound-damping compounds
Film & Cast Film Extrusion
Well-suited for cast film and co-extruded film applications, Evatane 28-25’s high VA and MFI 25 enable thin-gauge cast films, tie/sealing layers, and specialty films requiring flexibility and adhesion to other polymers. Its processability supports high-speed film lines and technical film requirements.
Key Bullets:
- Cast film for laminates/packaging
- Tie-layer/sealing layer in co-extruded films
- Specialty/technical films
PV & Specialty Context
While Evatane 28-25 base grade is not the dedicated PV encapsulant, SK offers a related 28‑25 PV variant for solar modules. The base grade is primarily for HMA, HFFR, and film, but “solar EVA/PV sheet” keywords are included for discoverability.
