HMEL PP Polysure R03RR
HMEL PP Polysure R03RR is a polypropylene homopolymer tape-extrusion grade produced by HMEL using Novolen gas-phase technology for raffia, monofilament, and woven-sack applications. It offers extremely low water-carry-over, high tenacity, and excellent processability for high-speed tape and monofilament lines.
R03RR vs R03RR1 and other HMEL PP homopolymer grades
R03RR (Novolen) is ideal for raffia/tape extrusion, while R03RR1 (Spheripol-II) targets similar applications with alternate technology. Both are part of HMEL’s woven-sack/tape PP portfolio.
Technical Properties & Processing
- Melt Flow Index (230°C/2.16kg):4–3.5 g/10 min (ASTM D1238)
- Tensile Strength at Yield: ≈34 MPa (ASTM D638)
- Elongation at Yield: ≈9% (ASTM D638)
- Flexural Modulus: 1500 MPa (ASTM D790)
- Vicat Softening Point: 154°C (ASTM D1525)
- HDT (0.455 MPa): 95°C (ASTM D648)
- Processing Window: Cylinder 200–260°C, line-specific
- No metal stearates/slip agents; extremely low water-carry-over
Applications & Industry Use Cases
Raffia Tape & Woven-Sack Applications
Polysure R03RR is optimized for high-speed tape extrusion and woven-sack manufacturing, delivering strong, ductile tapes for food-grade and industrial sacks.
Monofilaments, Ropes, Strapping & Leno Bags
The grade provides stable draw-down, low breakage, and excellent tenacity for monofilament yarns, ropes, strapping, and mesh-style packaging.
Thermoforming and Structural Webbing Uses
R03RR supports thermoformed bands, straps, and structural webbing applications that demand high stiffness and ductility.
Performance Advantages of Polysure R03RR
R03RR delivers extremely low water-carry-over, reducing bubbles and line instability. Its high stiffness and ≈9% elongation balance enable tear-resistant tapes and ropes, while its processability ensures smooth, stable production on modern raffia lines.
Comparison to Other PP Tape / Raffia Grades in India
- Polysure R03RR (HMEL): Novolen, 3.4–3.5 MFI, tape/raffia/monofilament
- R03RR1 (HMEL): Spheripol-II, similar applications, alternate tech
- IOCL 1030RG / AS030N (Propel): Homopolymer, ~3.3 MFI, tape/raffia
- Reliance H030SG (Repol): Homopolymer, raffia grade
- HR003 (MRPL): Tape/raffia, low water-carry-over
Key Differentiators: R03RR is the go-to for woven-sack, tape, and monofilament lines needing low water-carry-over and high tenacity.
