HMEL PP Polysure F03RR1
HMEL PP Polysure F03RR1 is a polypropylene homopolymer BOPP film grade (HSN 39021000, CAS 9003-07-0) produced by HMEL using Spheripol-II technology for high-speed, metallisable BOPP tenter-process films. F03RR1 is free from metal stearates and slip agents, engineered for excellent stretchability, gel-free clarity, and dimensional stability on wide tenter lines.
F03RR1 vs F03RR (Spheripol-II vs Novolen Technology)
F03RR1 (Spheripol-II) offers higher stiffness (1500 MPa) and better impact (45 J/m) than F03RR (Novolen, 1450 MPa, 40 J/m), with superior film toughness and clarity for high-speed BOPP tenter lines.
Technical Properties & Processing
- Melt Flow Index (230°C/2.16kg):2 g/10 min (ASTM D1238)
- Tensile Strength @ Yield: 35 MPa (ASTM D638)
- Elongation @ Yield: 12% (ASTM D638)
- Flexural Modulus: 1500 MPa (ASTM D790A)
- Notched Izod Impact: 45 J/m (ASTM D256)
- Vicat Softening Point: 156°C (ASTM D1525)
- HDT (0.455 MPa): 95°C (ASTM D648)
- Processing Window: Extruder 200–260°C, Chill Roll 20–70°C
- No metal stearates/slip agents; low water-carry-over
Applications & Industry Use Cases
General-Purpose and Metallisable BOPP Films (Tenter-Process)
F03RR1 is ideal for high-speed, wide-width BOPP tenter films, supporting metallisable layers with minimal defects and outstanding clarity.
Lamination BOPP, Food Packaging, and Textile Overwraps
The grade excels in lamination films (bonding to PET, BOPP, PE), food packaging, and textile overwraps, offering excellent stretchability and printability.
Adhesive Tapes, Labels, and Specialty Laminates
F03RR1’s high stiffness and clarity make it a top performer for adhesive tapes, labels, and specialty laminates requiring dimensional stability and strong adhesion.
Performance Advantages of F03RR1
F03RR1 delivers high stiffness, improved impact strength, and superior clarity versus F03RR and standard copolymer grades. Its Spheripol-II microstructure yields gel-free, high-draw films with reduced breakage and bubble formation, supporting demanding BOPP tenter applications.
Competitor Comparison & Alternatives in India
- Polysure F03RR1 (HMEL): MFI 3.2, Spheripol-II, premium tenter film grade
- Polysure F03RR (HMEL): MFI 3.2, Novolen, stenter-oriented
- Reliance H110MA/H110MN: ≈3 MFI, BOPP stenter/tenter
- IOCL 1100MG: BOPP film homopolymer
- Opalene BOPP (OPaL): Comparable Indian grades
Key Differentiators: F03RR1 stands out for high-speed BOPP tenter lines, metallisation quality, and clarity where premium film performance is needed.
